ICARUS Sports continues expanding into novel and hair-raising sports, this time taking flight with Airspeeder.

In the deserts of South Australia, a landmark moment within motorsport took place, with the first ever timed electric flying car drag race. Acting as a pre-season testing session for EXA, Airspeeder’s first electric flying car racing season, created by Alauda Aeronautics; where full-scale electric flying cars, or Speeders, will put the throttle to the max and take motorsport where it has never been before.

Airspeeder is predicated upon the notion that sport can act as an important springboard for technological progress. ICARUS Sports, sharing a mutual belief in the transformative potential of sport, is assisting Airspeeder by including content from the series in the monthly TV show, Gearing Up, meaning guaranteed exposure in more than 150 countries.

Stephen Sidlo, Head of Media at Airspeeder states, “With a unique sport proposition, Airspeeder aims to create a new sport at the cusp of technology and innovation across sport, aerospace and broadcasting. It’s multi-vehicle, airborne motorsport aims to excite fans who love the adrenaline of competition – but want something new. The growth of our flying car racing series is grounded in working with incredible distribution networks like ICARUS Sports and we look forward to working together“.

Poppy Siasou, Sales & Account Manager at ICARUS Sports comments, “ICARUS Sports has made quite a name for itself for keeping its finger on the pulse of global sporting developments, and Airspeeder is definitely making some waves! We hope this new partnership is the beginning of a long-term partnership bringing one of the world’s most exciting sporting endeavours to audiences around the world“.
