The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is the world’s largest warm-water regatta and offered four days of world-class yacht racing from 28 February-3 March 2019.

Celebrating its 39th anniversary in 2019, the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta welcomed thousands of sailors from over 20 countries racing on maxi yachts, performance multihulls, charter boats and live-aboard yachts. Olympic medallists, world champions, pro and amateur sailors all flocked to the island for the event’s unique mix of outstanding racing on the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean, followed by legendary daily post-race parties and live music from well-known artists at the regatta village in Port de Plaisance.

Competitors were offered a mixture of races, with a combination of windward-leeward and coastal races blended together into an irresistible cocktail of racing chosen to suit each class’s sailing style. Whatever the emphasis, fun or serious, there was racing on offer for all.

ICARUS Sports was appointed as media partner to produce daily highlights videos, short features for social media, a 10 minute post-event wrap-up documentary, alongside international media distribution to broadcasters and online media.

“ICARUS Sports is very proud that was part of the largest yacht racing event in the Caribbean, which is renowned across the sailing world,” commented Manos Kampas, ICARUS Sports Sales and Project Manager. “This was our first time working with the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and we are very proud that we were part of one of the sport’s unmissable events. The combination of competitive sailing and memorable after-parties positions the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta on the wish list of every sailor.”
