ICARUS Sports will once again team up with the world of Olympic skiff sailing as media partner for the 49er/49er FX/Nacra17 European Championship.

Elite sailors, including more than a dozen gold medalists, will battle it out on the Olympic waters of Weymouth, UK from 16-19 May 2019. Six fleet races a day on challenging race tracks will deliver great racing and are a key performance indicator as Tokyo 2020 approaches.

ICARUS Sports will send a 7-person media team to deliver daily live streaming of the Championship, as well as daily highlights videos for social media and global TV distribution. Innovative filming and multiple cameras will enable fans to experience more of what Olympic skiff sailing offers, using sea level cameras, drones, on board and in-studio to create an incredible viewing interaction.

“ICARUS Sports has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the 49er/49erFX/Nacra17 Olympic classes,” commented Manos Kampas, ICARUS Sports Sales and Project Manager. “The extension of our relationship for 2019 demonstrates the success of our production and distribution delivery to date, and commitment of the 49er Class to broadcast their showpiece Championships.”

“We are thrilled to bring sailing fans live action from the regattas that matter in the lead up to Tokyo 2020. For the seventh year in a row we have brought back our trusted partners, ICARUS Sports, to capture the action,” said 49er and Nacra 17 Classes President, Marcus Spillane.
