The Patrouille des Glaciers is a legendary biennial ski-mountaineering race organised by the Swiss Armed Forces that brings military and civilian teams together to traverse demanding high-alpine terrain in the Pennine Alps in Switzerland. Renowned as one of the toughest ski-mountaineering races in the world, its longest “Z” route covers about 57.5 km from Zermatt to Verbier with more than 4,000 metres of elevation gain across glaciers and exposed mountain passes. The 41st edition is scheduled for 13–19 April 2026, with up to around 1,400 teams expected to compete over several race days, alongside enhanced live-tracking options for spectators and continued efforts to encourage broad international and female participation.

ICARUS Sports has entered a new partnership with the Fondation Patrouille des Glaciers to oversee the international distribution of content from the Patrouille des Glaciers. Under the agreement, ICARUS Sports will handle the global distribution of raw race footage for TV news, provide highlight content to digital and online media platforms. The partnership also includes the integration of race highlights into ICARUS Sports’ in-house showThe Outdoor Sports Show. The primary goal is to ensure that the spectacular images of the Patrouille des Glaciers are broadcast far beyond Switzerland, significantly expanding the event’s international visibility and global reach.

This strategic partnership enables the Fondation Patrouille des Glaciers to amplify the global presence of the Patrouille des Glaciers well beyond Switzerland, while ICARUS Sports reinforces its position as a leading international distributor of premium outdoor sports content, creating clear added value for both organisations.

Christoph Stadler, Business Development Manager at ICARUS Sports proudly stated: ”The Patrouille des Glaciers represents the very essence of high-performance outdoor sport, and our role is to ensure that its extraordinary images and stories reach audiences far beyond Switzerland. By leveraging our global distribution network across news, digital platforms and broadcasters, we are confident this partnership will significantly elevate the international visibility of the event.
