ICARUS Sports is going GLOBAL with Extreme E! Aspiring to make the revolutionary all-electric off-road racing series accessible to audiences all around the globe; ICARUS Sports has been assigned as the global rights distributor, assisting the series to secure broadcasting partners for this groundbreaking concept launching in January 2021. Extreme E, the brainchild of the people behind Formula E, is taking electric motorsports to a whole new level, racing through some of the world’s most extreme environments.
Taking motorsport to a new level, the race coverage itself is particularly unique. The car is fitted with numerous onboard cameras, from a rear-facing bumper cam to a behind suspension forward cam, to a drivers eye helmet camera; including fast and agile aerial filming performed by highly professional pilots at speeds of 60mph, thus providing an unparalleled perspective of the racing experience.
The Live TV Graphics Package further re-enforces the expeditionary nature of the project; by employing natural data such as latitude and longitude data, topography, heat, wind, and overlaying race data such as speed, gear, g-force, thus creating a unique visual experience.
Manos Kampas, Sales Director at ICARUS Sports said, “Being a key partner for such an inspiring and groundbreaking project such as that of Extreme E, highlighting the impact of climate change whilst showcasing the performance of all-electric SUVs, truly is a privilege. As the global rights distributor, our plan is to do what we do best, to make use of our extensive global media network and ensure that we share Extreme E’s mission all around the world“.
