Weihai, a beautiful coastal city with a reputation for hosting many international sports events, was once again filled with action for 2019 Weihai Hobie 16 Asian Championships. Teams from 11 countries and regions have come together to compete for the titles.

From July 1st to 3rd32 teams participated in the 11 racesTeerapong Watiboonruang and Nutratsorn Watiboonruang of Thailand maintained their lead position from day one and finally took the champion title. Their compatriots Kitsada Vongtim and Nopporn Boocherd made the 2nd place, with Tong Yuishing and Liu Xueying of Hong KongChina in 3rd position to complete the podium.

Since the first appearance in China 10 years ago, Hobie sailboat has gained its popularity here, currently number one choice among professionals and sailing fans. City of Weihai is also a host to a number of international sailing events, including Hobie International ChampionshipHobie Asian Championships and Hobie Asia-Pacific Championship. Ambitious Weihai is looking to have its own China Weihai Hobie Open Championship!
