ICARUS Sports is delighted to launch a brand new partnership with the International Laser Class Association (ILCA), kicking off with the 2019 Laser European Championships in Porto, Portugal from 20-25 May.
The race track battle is guaranteed to be intense and spectacular, as Porto is renowned for its thrilling conditions on the open waters and huge long ocean swells of the Atlantic Ocean to the nuances of racing on the famous Douro river.
229 sailors from 56 nations are in the entry line-up, including forty-eight of World Sailing’s top 50 best ranked athletes. Current Rio 2016 Olympic medallists Marit Bouwmeester (NED), Anne Marie Rindom (DEN), Tom Burton (AUS), Tonci Stipanovic (CRO) and Sam Meech (NZL), will be joined by the 2018 Laser World Championship medallists, including Emma Plasschaert (BEL), Pavlos Kontides (CYP), Matthew Wearn (AUS) and Philipp Buhl (GER) who will all be fighting it out to add the 2019 Laser European title to their medal haul.

As media partner, ICARUS Sports will produce daily highlights for news and social media, raw footage to TV news and a 26 minute documentary. International media distribution will extend to over 160 nations, including highlights in the TV Show Sailing to Tokyo.
