Croatia’s most important and largest trail race unfolded over three days from 12-14 April 2019, weaving through scenic green valleys, challenging mountain ascents, charming seaside towns and beautiful medieval villages.

Whether a rookie who has just started to explore trail running or the all-out warrior who relishes technical strenuous climbs and overnight running, 100 Miles of Istria offered something for everyone. Athletes choose their race distance -Red (100 miles), Blue (110km), Green (67km) or Yellow (41km)- with courses starting at different parts of the Istrian peninsula and all finishing in the city of Umag, the westernmost city of Croatia. The race is a unique combination of modern living and rich history, staged in a stunning landscape which is a feast for the eyes.

Launched in 2013 with just 237 competitors, 100 Miles of Istria has evolved into a field of over 2,000 competitors. Certified by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), and a qualification race for the Ultra Mont Blanc (UTMB) and Western States Endurance Run (WSER), 100 Miles of Istria put on another spectacular show in 2019, as athletes raced through white-capped mountains, lush wheat fields, vineyards, olive groves and along the Adriatic coastline.

ICARUS Sports managed the distribution for 100 Miles of Istria, including TV News, features in The Outdoor Sports Show TV magazine, highlights distribution to online media, and broadcast packages for inflight entertainment.

“2019 marks the first time we have cooperated with 100 Miles of Istria and we are really excited about the opportunities and outcomes achieved,” commented Alkis Fakiris, ICARUS Sports Sales and Project Manager. “I look forward to this being the first year of a long-term partnership.”
