With the Upper Austria Kitefoil Grand Prix Traunsee 2020, a brand new Olympic format comes to Austria for the first time. From the 15th – 20th September, the first Formula Kite Mixed Relay European Championship will take place at Rindbach, Ebensee; with 20 teams locking horns with each other over five days. This is the second major face-off in 2020 after the Individual European Championship in Puck, Poland.
ICARUS Sports, having established itself as one of the leading Sports Media companies, particularly in the realm of nautical sports, will be responsible for producing daily highlight videos, a 10min documentary, 15min showreel, and for distributing raw footage for TV News usage. Lastly, highlights from the event will be included in our monthly TV shows, Inside Sailing and Kite Masters, meaning guaranteed international exposure in more than 160 countries.
“We are very proud to host the Formula Kite Mixed Relay European Championship together with the Segelclub and the Windsurfclub of Ebensee. We are already excited to see which team will finally capture the title in this dynamic and neo-Olympic format. The recent cooperation with Icarus Sports, which has already covered the Austria Cup in the big-boat classes RC44 and GC32 in the past, gives us the opportunity to provide a comprehensive range of event videos despite existing COVID-19 requirements“, says Profs Managing Director Christian Feichtinger.
Christoph Stadler, Business Development Manager of ICARUS Sports added, “It is great to be back in Ebensee for the Upper Austria Kitefoil Grand Prix Traunsee. Ebensee is well known as one of the best kiting venues in Austria and the new Olympic format will showcase Traunsee perfectly as a sport and tourist destination whilst offering spectacular racing to the spectators and TV audiences. We look forward to exciting races, to capturing the passion and sharing it with the world“.
