Ski mountaineering has a lot of supporters all over the world. Now, all these supporters can enjoy the Pierra Creta 2024 in Crete, on the 9th of March as ICARUS Sports will share the highlights via the series ‘‘The Outdoor Sports Show”. The race will take place at Lakkos Mygerou, at the foot of Psiloritis Mountain.
Pierra Creta is an event that counts 10 years, as it took place for the first time in 2014. Now, Pierra Creta is the top mountaineering skiing event in Greece and one of the emerging and most distinctive in Europe. More than 200 athletes from 15 countries will participate in the race, supported by more than 100 volunteers. Notable is the fact that for the first time this year, international participants will outnumber the Greek ones. Another interesting fact is that Pierra Creta 2024 is the only “sustainable skiing” competition since it is held in a mountainous area where there is no infrastructure for an organized ski resort.
ICARUS sports loves winter sports and the pleasure of working for such an amazing race has been expressed by the Business Development Manager, Ria Pateraki, who said: ”We are very happy to be part of this project. This is one of the most exciting races of ski mountaineering and we are very happy that this race will be held in the island of Crete, Greece.”
