Starting from the Oasis of Alwasil and finishing at Al Jawharat Resort in Bediyah, the Oman Desert Marathon included four stages and four different perspectives of one of the most beautiful deserts of the world. ICARUS Sports shared with the sports enthusiasts the unique experiences of this unique race.
Oman Desert Marathon it’s not a usual marathon. No one can easily participate in a race with four stages of 42 km, 55 km, 47 km and 21 km on the desert. Participants from all over the world, like England, Finland and Kazakhstan, came to the Oasis of Alwasil. The change in the diversity of landscapes surprised the runners, and while they got deeper into the desert they experienced, medium dunes, steep and very soft, proved to be a challenge for all, even for those that participated in desert races before and thought they were not going to have to give a good effort.
Their clear goal was to have the courage and strength, mentally and physically, to finish the marathon. It is also very important to say that there was a big interest of the children’s 2 km run, the 5 km run, and the 10 km, which were run on the first day of the marathon.
ICARUS Sports delivered the news all over the world during the whole event, so no one could miss the excitement of the race.
