Reminiscent of Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days, earlier this year, competitors took part in a unique competition. These would-be adventurers transversed the globe to take on a remarkable challenge, to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
Setting off from Novo’s aircraft runway (Antarctica) to the Sea Side Promenade in Cape Town (Africa), to Perth (Australia), to Jumeirah Beach in Dubai (Asia), to the Jarama Formula 1 Circuit in Madrid (Europe), to Fortaleza in Brazil (South America), and finally ending at South Beach in Miami (North America). Even the Guinness Book of Records has acknowledged the event for record-setting purposes.
The ICARUS Sports team was there on the ground covering this unique competition from start to finish, and the production of a 26-minute documentary has now been finalized.
Konstantinos Papadas, Project Manager & COO Assistant, commented: “When I was given the chance to follow this incredible group of people on a journey around the world, and take up the role of executive producer for the documentary we produced, I was stocked! To capture such an inspiring adventure, and the personal stories and purpose of each athlete is a unique experience.”
He continues, “It was tough and exhausting; I spent 7 days between filming and sleeping on a plane, travelled through 12 time zones, but such projects are what brought me to ICARUS Sports and I am looking forward to the next one!”
