ICARUS Sports coverage of outdoor sports has delivered the latest action, news and insights from some of the most exciting action sports around the world during the first four months of 2019.
The ICARUS Sports production team has captured jaw dropping achievements, remarkable comebacks and simply the best moments across our events portfolio, working alongside our longstanding partners and delivering brand new coverage for our latest event acquisitions.
Embracing trail running, marathons, half-marathons, road biking, off-road biking and triathlon, our media team has traversed Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
In January, ICARUS Sports managed the distribution of the Muscat Marathon, a two-day festival attracting over 6,000 athletes from 87 nations, to participate across 6 race categories, with the full 42km marathon the centrepiece of the festival. Staying in Oman, we delivered distribution for the Haute Route Oman, a cycling race along 238km of wide sweeping roads, marking the first ever Haute Route event in the Middle East.
Returning to Europe, for the third consecutive year we delivered production and distribution for the 3-day Algarve Bike Challenge in early March, a trail rider’s marathon paradise around the hills and rocky mountains of southern Portugal.
At the same time, over on the Spanish island of Menorca, we handled the distribution of Epic Cami De Cavalls, a classic race circuiting the unspoilt coastline along the GR 223 footpath.
Asia called at the end of March, for the XTERRA Taiwan, and the sixth annual 2019 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship off-road triathlon festival. Hosted at Kenting National Park on the southern tip of Taiwan, ICARUS Sports delivered both production and distribution.
We returned to Europe, to manage distribution for the Mitas 4 Islands in Croatia, a race pitching pairs of riders against other teams over 5 days of mountain bike racing in some of Croatia’s most stunning islands. Also in Croatia, we distributed footage for the 100 Miles of Istria, Croatia’s most important and largest trail race.
And finally during the last weekend of April, ICARUS Sports was in Greece and China, covering the distribution of XTERRA Greece and the Ultimate Tsaigu in China, and production and distribution for the iconic Shanghai Half Marathon; yet again proving the capacity of our team to cover multiple events at the same time.
